Dr Andrew Holden is the Director of Interventional Services at Auckland City Hospital and an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Auckland’s School of Medicine.
He is a respected member of the Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia (IRSA) and serves as a Senior Examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
Dr Holden completed his radiology training at Auckland Hospital, followed by fellowships in interventional radiology and body imaging at Royal Perth Hospital. He also undertook specialised fellowship training in liver transplantation at King’s College Hospital in London.
An active contributor to academic medicine, Dr Holden has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, written four book chapters, and has been a faculty member at numerous international conferences.
At Auckland City Hospital, he leads both the liver transplant imaging programme and the endoluminal stent graft programme, advancing care in these highly specialised areas.
His clinical and research interests include advanced interventional techniques for endoluminal, renal and oncology applications as well as new CT and MR techniques.
